Placemat Drive for Nourish Meals on Wheels
We love how generously our customers share their time and talents! Help us brighten mealtime for local seniors and homebound adults by making and donating a placemat—or 2, or 20!
Nourish Meals on Wheels delivers approximately 750 meals each day throughout the South Metro Denver area. Its mission is:
“To enrich the lives of seniors and homebound adults by providing nutritious meals and services that promote dignity, well-being, and independence.”
Many meal recipients live alone, and a cheerful handmade placemat is a wonderful way to remind them that someone cares.
Our Goal: 1,250 Placemats!
Please bring your completed placemats to The Creative Needle by November 30, 2026. We will display the placemats in the store as they are collected.
For every finished placemat you donate, your name will be entered into a drawing for Creative Needle Gift Certificates!
Placemat Guidelines

Placemats must be made with washable fabrics.

Finished size should be approximately 12" × 18".

Any technique is welcome, including piecing, appliqué, embroidery, quilting, crazy quilting and more.

Placemats must have bound or otherwise neatly finished edges.
This is a fun and meaningful way to use orphan blocks, leftover batting, fabric scraps, embroidery test samples and other unfinished treasures from your sewing room.
